Monday Musings: Swore I would never repeat my parents words..........
As my children get older, I hear myself more and more often saying things that my parents used to say to me. Usually it's my own variation on what they said, but quite often it is word for word verbatim of what they used to say to me. Every time I find myself doing it I try hard not to laugh, for fear of ruining the crucial teaching moment I am having with my children, but the laughter is there.
How many times growing up did I SWEAR to them that I would NEVER say those things to my own kids? How many times did I tell them how horrible of parents they were because they dared to hold me accountable for my own actions? How many times did I yell and scream at them for being unfair or hypocritical or mean or they I knew they were just doing it to pick on me? How many times did I scream that I couldn't wait to have kids so I could show them how you were supposed to raise a child?
Well here I am, 36 years old, with 4 (sometimes 5) children in my home, children that I am responsible for until they are at least 18, but most likely longer, and I catch myself saying the things to them that I was so sure I would never say.
-"Are you the parent? No, I am, so stop bossing your brother around."
-"Did you even use your eyes to look for the shoes that are sitting 5 feet away from you?"
-"Hi hungry, I'm Dad."
-"Did you do your homework? Prove it!"
-"Don't you dare slam the door on me in MY house."
-"My names Dad, not Dude."
-"I know you don't believe me, but I do know what you are going through, and I promise things will get better."
-"Well I'm sorry you feel that way, but as long as you're in my house, you'll live by my rules. No, you're too young to move out. No, you wont be able to get a job. You can't even keep up with the 3 chores you have here, and you think you can go get a real job?"
-"I know fractions are hard, but yes you will use them in real life."
And on and on and on and on and...............................
So to my parents I say, thank you. Thank you for putting up with me. Thank you for raising me to always be the best version of me that I can be. Thank you for giving me the tools to raise my own children. Thank you for giving me my sense of humor. Thank you for always loving me, even when you don't like me in that moment. And mostly, thank you for never giving up on me.

Time to update the blog
So we haven't posted in here much in quite a while, and there are many reasons why, but mainly, life just got in the way. Now that we are focusing on updating our social media presence and using it to bring us closer together it is time to update the blog as well.
However, in saying that, we really aren't sure exactly what to write about, and would love some input. What would you like to see in this blog? Stories about what happens in our lives? Updates about the daily on goings for us or maybe just updates of big things that happen? More in depth discussions on the daily posts we do on the Facebook page?
We need your help, so, if you are reading this, please leave us a comment here, or on the Facebook post sharing this post, about what kinds of things you would be interested in reading about on here.
Thank you!

End of Summer Run Down
Sadly the Brazier Children's summer is coming to a close much quicker than we were expecting. Due to circumstances we only got half the time with A&E&R than we usually do and that threw off all our plans. So we made the best of what time we have had with the kids and truly enjoyed ourselves.
Here is a run down of our summer for those who are just catching up.
We had multiple #ParkAdventure's while they were here, and LiveStreamed them onto Facebook, then posted most the videos to YouTube as well.
We had a birthday party for Analyse & Elliot which was a blast. They loved having friends to play with and family there. Didn't have much of a turn out compared to what I was expecting, but thankfully they didn't notice and that's all that matters.
Rylee got picked up last weekend to go spend some time with her Dad and Step Mom before school starts. We are hoping she has a great time.
We are finally getting to go camping this weekend, we are going out to property owned by family and we are excited to go. It will be nice to get away for a while before having to take them back to their moms.
We have quite a few fun plans scheduled for this week to make sure we get it all in before they go. Keep an eye on our Facebook page to make sure you can keep up with all the action. We post to YouTube, Instagram, and, when Daddy remembers, Twitter as well.

Birthdays and Bedrooms and Park Adventures
So we have a few things to cover today.
First off we have the A&E Michigan BDay Party coming up July 29th from 10am to 2pm. We hope to see you all there. Details are on the BrazierChildren Facebook event page linked above.
Secondly we did a Facebook Live Stream Sunday evening, where Daddy and Mamma Paige surprised the kids with a new loft bed for Analyse and Rylee and rearranging the room for everyone. (Youtube)
Thirdly, our next Park Adventure will be Wednesday around 6:30pm since Daddy works late. Hopefully it will be another interesting Facebook Live Stream, but we will see how the day goes.
Hope you all have a GREAT day!

Aberdeen Park Adventure 7/18/17
So we went on another Facebook Livestream Park Adventure last night to Aberdeen Park (which has also been uploaded to YouTube). Well, we wanted to go to Aberdeen Park but it was full due to little league games. So then we we went to the church next door but they have private property signs on their equipment. Instead we went over to Aberdeen elementary school and played on the schools playground. The kids had a ton of fun, parents had a good time out, and we even had a surprise guest. Our friend Bekah lives near by so she came to walk with us for a bit, although it seemed more just an excuse to hold Oswald, but hey, can you blame her?
After an hour of live streaming we said good bye and walked home for sandwiches and bedtime. We had alot of fun and can't wait for our next Park Adventure to happen. Again, anyone who cares to join us for one can do so. Either show up at the park we say we are going to, or contact us via Facebook or Gmail.

Huff Park Adventure 7/16/17
So today we went on an evening adventure to Huff Park right by our home. Daddy, Mamma Paige, and all 5 Brazier Children went along for the adventure and we had a BLAST. We started out the walk normally but then Daddy decided we should do a live video from our Facebook page (which was later uploaded to YouTube). The live video streamed for 40 some minutes and was a ton of fun. We decided to walk the paths through the wet land. We walked carefully over boards to get over sunken parts of the paths. We did what daddy referred to as the "31st Annual I Can't Remember The Name Of This" race. Daddy had the kids scream "Live From New York It's Saturday Night!"so they can practice when for when they become famous. Mamma Paige found a black raspberry bush and picked some for all the kids. We did some adventuring off the main path and saw some cool things. Oh, and there was the occasional "Baby Watch" so everyone could see Oswald.
We all had a ton of fun and plan to do it again soon. Thinking we may do regular live streams from different parks around Grand Rapids as the summer goes on. The kids love it, parents enjoy it, and it gets us exercise and out of the house. Well that's it for now, Daddy and Mamma Paige are going to go geek out and watch the season premier of Game Of Thrones!!!!!!!!!!

Finally starting our summer
It's been two months since the last post in here and we are sorry. Trying to keep up with everything in life lately has just been a lot to handle. It's a big problem with having parent's who have high anxiety and a bunch of kids, you get so caught up in things you can't always keep up with things. We are still hoping to make this blog something worthwhile, along with the Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and Instagram pages.
Tomorrow we go to pick up Analyse, Elliot, and Rylee for the remainder of the summer. This summer we did not get them the entire time like we normally do, so we are going to make the best of the weeks we have and jam pack them full of adventure. We are going to go on camping trips, long walks in all the local parks, going to go swimming, have sleep overs at grandparents houses, some play dates with friends and family, the list goes on and on.
If you would like to spend time with the Brazier Children before school starts, shoot us an email at BrazierChildren@gmail.com and we will set something up.
Hope you all are enjoying your summer and we look forward to seeing you, or at least you seeing us on here.

Christmas Day has arrived
Daddy is so excited because now ALL of our Brazier Children are in town at the same time.
Mamma Paige and Pappa took Marcus and went to pick up Analyse, Elliot, and Rylee from Mommies house today. Daddy is stuck at work today so he didn’t get to go but Mamma Paige made sure that everyone got to video chat with Daddy on their drive home.
Soon as they got back into town they went straight home with Pappa so that they could see Grammy first. They will hang out there until Daddy gets out of work and then we will all go home to our place to spend time playing until bed time. Then even more Christmas stuff at Grammy and Pappas tomorrow. Daddy does have to work tomorrow morning, but that’s okay, he will be over as soon as he gets out of work.

Almost Christmas
Daddy and Mamma Paige are so excited to have all the kids here for Christmas again this year. It is such a joy every time they are in town, and so much more of a joy that it is during Christmas. Everyone should keep an eye out for many many updates to the Blog, Facebook, and Instagram during Christmas Break. There will be constant updates.

Busy busy weekend
This weekend we had so much going on but it was so much fun. Grammy and Pappa went Friday to pick Analyse and Elliot up from their mom's house. Marcus had been dropped off Thursday by his dad, and Rylee is staying in Chicago so she can spend time with her Dad. We went out Saturday and spent the day at Riverside Park with a bunch of Daddy and Momma Paige's friends. We were there all day and we had so much fun, and the kids all behaved wonderfully. Sunday was the wedding reception for Mamma Paige and Daddy and it was a hot day. The Lodge has no AC and so even with fans in windows everyone was still sweating pretty hard. Lots of people showed up and hung out and had fun. It was great to see everyone who came and thank them all for wishing us luck. We were there till super late but everyone enjoyed their time together. (Pics of wedding on our Facebook Page.)

Our summer so far.....
So far this summer has been fun, and frustrating, all at once.
Daddy and Mamma Paige love having all the kids here for the summer. Mamma Paige loves getting up in the morning to spend time with all of you, make you breakfast, play games, go for walks, and all kinds of things while Daddy is at work. The only problem arises when you guys decide to not listen to the rules; For example, jumping on beds, hitting each other, talking back to Mamma Paige, saying bad words, and so on. When you guys decide to follow the rules, things go off without a hitch.
We started our summer with a busy weekend. We got the chance to pick some of you up earlier than planned, and so our schedules had to adjust to match. Daddy, Mamma Paige, and Marcus arrived in Chicago on Thursday night after Analyses last day of school. We got Analyse, Elliot, and Rylee from their Mommy’s house and came straight back home to Michigan. Then Friday morning we took Mamma Paige to meet her friends to go to Cedar Point for the weekend, which was part of her Birthday gift from Daddy. Daddy had to work Friday night and Saturday morning, so all of you went to spend that time with Grammie and Pappa. You guys told Daddy later that you had such a blast while you were there.
Saturday night Daddy and the kids came back home and did dinner and baths before bed. We got up Sunday and got ready so that we could go pick up Mamma Paige from her trip, and come home to spend time together relaxing and enjoying being together.
Since then Daddy has worked most days, but has still tried to make sure he makes time to play games and such with you.
You guys got to come see Daddy at work, and swing on the giant tire swing (Video Here). You got to watch Daddy have to shave and then have a bunch of fun making a video out of it (Video Here). We took tons and tons and tons of pictures and Daddy put them all online so everyone could see the fun we all had (Our Instagram). We went to Pappa Hunnies for lunch and played there. You got to see all your cousins (Human and Dog), and all your Aunts and Uncles, and spend time with them. Daddy even was told that you all got to go swimming without him.
All in all, so far, this summer has been a blast and we are just beginning. Daddy can’t wait to see what other things he will post about as the summer goes on. Daddy even made a Facebook page (Brazierchildren) for you guys, and an email (Brazierchildren@gmail.com) as well for any family who wants to email you. Daddy and Mommy both have access to the email.

Daddy had to shave
Daddy had to shave for work, so we broadcasted it live on Facebook. We saved the video and put it on YouTube: watch it here.
