Marcus Got Into Montessori

So, Momma Paige took Marcus to orientation for Riverside Middle today, only to find out they didn't have in enrolled. It took 5 people, including the Principle and the Guidance Counselor, to find out Marcus is going to GR Montessori, and GRPS just never bothered to notify us.

So congrats to Marcus on getting into one of the schools he had wanted to go to. You'll do great bud.

Reminder

We interrupt our normally scheduled post to bring you this:

If you want to see my children, Marcus, Analyse, Elliot, or Oswald (or even Rylee), you will message me directly to figure out a time. I can not garauntee it will be the exact time you want as I work a lot, and I cannot garauntee where we will meet as it depends on the mental health state of the family at that time.
Do not message Paige or any other family members, message this page or me (Byron) directly.
Thank you for your time.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled show.

YouTube Tuesday: The BrazierParents #Every6Months video

Congratulations,
you get a chance to go watch our video, aren't you excited?
Mamma Paige and Daddy made a video together, first of many to come.

Now yes, it is a long video, however, if you watch it on a computer (on YouTube itself), you can click the links in the description to jump to each question if you don't have time to watch the whole thing and need to come back to it and start where you left off. Plus, there are auto generated subtitles, that will be updated by this time tomorrow (5/13/18), so you can watch without volume if needed (at work or our voices annoy you).

So please,
go give it a watch,
subscribe,
comment,
like the video,
you know, all the things people do on YouTube to show people support.
Thanks, really appreciate it, you're the best.

Throwback Thursday: That time Daddy shaved

Today's #ThrowbackThursday is back a few years to when Daddy had to shave for work, and it was the first time any of the Children or Mamma Paige had seen Daddy without facial hair.

Monday Musings: Swore I would never repeat my parents words..........

As my children get older, I hear myself more and more often saying things that my parents used to say to me. Usually it's my own variation on what they said, but quite often it is word for word verbatim of what they used to say to me. Every time I find myself doing it I try hard not to laugh, for fear of ruining the crucial teaching moment I am having with my children, but the laughter is there.
How many times growing up did I SWEAR to them that I would NEVER say those things to my own kids? How many times did I tell them how horrible of parents they were because they dared to hold me accountable for my own actions? How many times did I yell and scream at them for being unfair or hypocritical or mean or they I knew they were just doing it to pick on me? How many times did I scream that I couldn't wait to have kids so I could show them how you were supposed to raise a child?
Well here I am, 36 years old, with 4 (sometimes 5) children in my home, children that I am responsible for until they are at least 18, but most likely longer, and I catch myself saying the things to them that I was so sure I would never say.

-"Are you the parent? No, I am, so stop bossing your brother around."
-"Did you even use your eyes to look for the shoes that are sitting 5 feet away from you?"
-"Hi hungry, I'm Dad."
-"Did you do your homework? Prove it!"
-"Don't you dare slam the door on me in MY house."
-"My names Dad, not Dude."
-"I know you don't believe me, but I do know what you are going through, and I promise things will get better."
-"Well I'm sorry you feel that way, but as long as you're in my house, you'll live by my rules. No, you're too young to move out. No, you wont be able to get a job. You can't even keep up with the 3 chores you have here, and you think you can go get a real job?"
-"I know fractions are hard, but yes you will use them in real life."
And on and on and on and on and...............................

So to my parents I say, thank you. Thank you for putting up with me. Thank you for raising me to always be the best version of me that I can be. Thank you for giving me the tools to raise my own children. Thank you for giving me my sense of humor. Thank you for always loving me, even when you don't like me in that moment. And mostly, thank you for never giving up on me.
-Daddy (Byron)

Spring Break 2019 is coming

With Spring break coming up soon, and Daddy having to work a bunch of over time while all the Chicago kids are in Michigan with us, we were curious what kinds of ideas you had for activities for us to do. Granted we are in Michigan, so it is probable the weather will still be decently cold, so keep that in mind.
Comment on here with ideas, and include images and/or links for those ideas.

We look forward to hearing from you.

School started

Analyse and Elliot started school today and thankfully Daddy was able to call them before school to let them know he was thinking about them and hoped that they had a great day. Marcus starts school on Monday.
In case you were wondering:
Marcus is in Fourth Grade
Analyse is in Third Grade
Elliot is in First Grade
Rylee is in Preschool
Oswald has a few years still

We wish all the children the best of luck in school and hope that they make a better time of it than Daddy did.
